Hanjin holds medical mission

- The Philippine Star

CASTILLEJOS, Zambales, Philippines  – Korean shipbuilding giant Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction-Philippines Inc. (HHIC-Phil) recently conducted a medical mission that benefited over 300 residents of this town as part of its continuing corporate social responsibility program.

Some 30 medical professionals from the Korean shipbuilding giant’s accredited hospitals joined HHIC-Phil officials and other volunteers in rendering various health and dental services to the residents of Castillejos, from consultations to minor surgical procedures.

Medicine for common sicknesses, health information pamphlets and refreshments were also given out to the townsfolk.

“This is just one of our humble ways of giving back to the people of Castillejos who have been very supportive to our company as a lot of our workers come from this town,” HHIC-Phil managing director Taek Kyun Yoo said.

Taek said engaging in charitable activities is “part of a sustained initiative of Hanjin to uplift the lives of the people in the nearby communities surrounding our shipyard in Zambales.”

HHIC-Phil also conducted fogging operation in the town’s most populated villages to combat dengue-carrying mosquitoes.
