BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Two residents of Kabankalan City in Negros Occidental died while nine others got sick due to possible water contamination in Sitio Pagula-on in Barangay Carol-an, Mayor Isidro Zayco said yesterday.
Zayco identified the fatalities as Carlito Martinez, 51, and Bambi Martinez, 40.
He said Kabankalan City Rural Health Unit chief Isagani Ayala went to the area yesterday to investigate the cause of the deaths and hospitalization of the residents.
