NPAs raid logging firm

-

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – At least 20 New People’s Army (NPA) rebels raided the processing plant of a logging firm and torched three heavy equipment in San Salvador, Agusan del Sur Wednesday, the military said.

Maj. Eugene Osias, spokesman of the Army’s 4th Infantry Division, said the rebels did not harm any of the workers of the Casilayan Softwood Development Co. while setting on fire a dump truck, a grader, and a backhoe. He said the rebels then crossed the Maug River and escaped toward the village of San Martin. – Roel Pareño, Ben Serrano
