Tuguegarao jail warden axed over suspect's escape

ILAGAN, Isabela, Philippines  – Police have launched a manhunt for a car theft suspect who bolted the detention facility of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Tuguegarao City, Cagayan Wednesday.

The escape of Jovell Villarosa resulted in the immediate relief of Jail Senior Inspector Erick Lazaro, Tuguegarao City warden.

BJMP regional director Michael Vidamo replaced Villarosa with Jail Senior Inspector Aldrin Goma.

Villarosa escaped by destroying the padlock of his cell. He is facing charges of car theft with double frustrated homicide. – Raymund Catindig, Charlie Lagasca
