Hot Babe case: Arson, murder charges filed vs 5 suspects
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The brutal killing of Viva Hot Babe Scarlet Garcia and three others in Olongapo City last March 12 has been considered solved following the filling in court of arson and murder charges against Ferdinand Cadenas, Jay AR Perez Mojica and three John Does.
This was announced yesterday by Chief Superintendent Errol Pan, Police Regional Office-3 director during a press conference conducted at the 3rd Crime Laboratory Office.
Pan said Senior Superintendent Abelardo Villacorta, Olongapo City police director, has filed yesterday morning the case to the Regional Trial Court after the 9mm slightly deformed jacketed fired bullet from the .9mm Prabellum V. Bernardeli recovered from the two suspects matched the gun used in the slaying of Garcia and three others which occurred at Acacia St. Gordon Heights, Olongapo City.

Pan ordered the filing of the case against the suspects after the parents of the rape victim in Dinalupihan have positively identified Cadenas and Mojica as the perpetrators.
A manhunt operation was launched against the remaining suspects by Task Force Galindez formed by police authorities.
On April 5, police arrested Cadenas and Mojica during a robbery in the houses of the Dayrit family and City Councilor Raul Macalino in Villa Corazon,
The suspects, they carted away with P100,000 worth of jewelry and personal belongings from the Dayrit house, while three of them raped the two visitors of the family.
They also robbed the house of Macalino and beat his wife and three children, said Senior Superintendent Keith Ernald Singian, Pampanga provincial police director.
Singian recovered from the two arrested suspects one .45 caliber Charles Daily pistol with tampered number, a .9mm Parabellum V. Bernardelli, one .9mm Luger CZ 75 B pistol and three deformed jacket-fired bullets.
He said that robbery with multiple rape have been filed in court against the suspects.
“We are also looking in the alleged involvement of the suspects in the robbery with rape case several months ago in a cybersex internet café in front of the University of the Assumption in Barangay Del Pilar, San Fernando, Pampanga,” said Singian.
He further said that the incident in the Cybersex was the same modus operandi of the group.
During the press conference, Superintendent Mina Babor of the 3rd Crime Laboratory Office here said that the two arrested suspects in Villa Corazon Subdivision were also found positive of THC metabolites, a dangerous drug.
