The violence continues. Another candidate for barangay head was killed, while a second one survived a slay attempt, and a third was abducted by suspected communist rebels.
In Matungao, Lanao del Norte, Emilio Payson, 36, who was running for chairman of Barangay Puntod, was shot dead the other day.
In Pigkawayan, North Cotabato, Rosando Alamada was holding a dialogue with residents of Barangay Patot, where he is running for chairman, when he was fired at yesterday. He survived the attack but one of his campaign managers was killed and four of his supporters were wounded
