Secretary Lito Atienza has deployed a team from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources to inspect landfills in Montalban, Rizal.
He said he keeps “a very open mind on this emergency situation” as he vowed not to allow a garbage crisis to occur.
Atienza called on Metro Manila Development Authority Chairman Bayani Fernando to consider having a landfill in Norzagaray, Bulacan amid the recent landfill dispute in Rizal.
