Magsaysays 48th death anniversary to be marked

The 48th death anniversary of the late President Ramon Magsaysay, the third president of the Republic of the Philippines, will be commemorated tomorrow.
Magsaysay, along with 27 others, died in a plane crash on the slopes of Mt. Manunggal in Cebu on a flight back to Manila.
The commemorative rites will start with a wreath-laying at 7 a.m. at the late presidents tomb at the North Cemetery, followed by a Mass to be officiated by Fr. Dennis Meim, SDB.
Attending the wreath-laying ceremony will be the Magsaysay family, led by Sen. Ramon Magsaysay Jr., friends and members of the Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Foundation Inc.
It will be a public holiday in Zambales, birthplace of the late president.
The occasion will also be marked by the annual trek to the site of the plane crash on Mt. Manunggal.
