2 guards kill supervisor, rob Lipa garment factory

LIPA CITY, Batangas — Two security guards of a Korean-owned garment factory here killed their night shift supervisor and then stole the company’s payroll amounting to P74,000 before dawn last Saturday, police said.

The two suspects, Marlon Pantorilla, 24, and Paniares Indong, both natives of Zamboanga del Sur, are now being hunted down, according to Superintendent David Quimto, this city’s police chief.

Both were security guards of Deahan Apparel, owned by Korean national Sang Shik Toon and whose factory is located in Purok 6, Barangay Lodlod this city.

Investigation showed that at about 9:30 p.m. last Friday, Pantorilla and Indong, then both off-duty, visited their supervisor, Jerson Cao, at the factory and brought with them a bottle of gin.

Another guard, Ronilo Gohito, also then off-duty, joined the three in the drinking session in the guardhouse.

Gohito, however, retired early that night and went to sleep in a truck parked in the factory’s premises.

Gohito told police probers he was later awakened by a commotion in the guardhouse. He said he saw Pantorilla and Indong stabbing Cao.

At this instance, Gohito said Pantorilla poked a 12-gauge shotgun at him and told him to lie on the ground after disarming him of his caliber .38 revolver.

The two suspects then forced their way into the factory where they carted away the P74,000 payroll and a cellular phone worth P13,000.

The heist took about an hour, after which Gohito sought the help of the nearest police station.
