CEBU CITY Its confirmed.
Regional police chief Avelino Razon Jr. will be pulled out from Central Visayas to become part of the Directorial Staff of Camp Crame very soon.
In a phone interview with The Freeman, Razon confirmed his impending promotion but did not reveal what position he will occupy.
He said Philippine National Police chief Director General Leandro Mendoza announced it during their one-on-one meeting at Camp Crame last Monday.
Razon was in Manila to attend the third anniversary celebration of the PNPs Internal Affairs Service where he was one of the awardees for drawing up the IAS rules and regulations when he was still deputy director for plans at Camp Crame in 1998.
After the award ceremony, Razon met with Mendoza and was told of his impending promotion to the directorial staff.
Mendoza is expected to issue Razons promotion order within the month.
Razon said his upcoming position at Camp Crame is not as chief of the Police Community Relations nor as head of the Narcotics Group.
Razon declined to say who is being eyed to replace him as Central Visayas police director.
Reports, however, said Chief Superintendent Jose Ayap could be Razons successor. Ayap used to be the police director of Bohol, head of the Regional Plans and Operations Division in Central Visayas and head of the Cebu Metro District Command. Freeman News Service
