June 24 a holiday in Manila

MANILA, Philippines -  Malacañang has declared June 24 a special non-working holiday in the city of Manila. 

The capital city celebrates its 446th founding anniversary today.  The declaration of Manila Day as a special non-working holiday was contained in Proclamation No. 208 signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in behalf of President Duterte last May 19. 

Manila was founded on June 24, 1571 by Spanish navigator and governor Miguel Lopez de Legazpi.
