Erap to voters: Choose right candidates
MANILA, Philippines – Reelectionist Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada reminded voters yesterday to choose the candidates they believe would bring progress to the city.
Estrada appealed to Manileños to ensure that the city would not go bankrupt again by rejecting the candidacies of returning former city officials, who had reportedly enriched themselves and emptied the city’s coffers.
“Exercise your right to vote. Go to the polling precincts and vote for the candidates who would be of great help to the public,” he said.
“We have learned our lessons. Never go again for candidates who put the city into financial crisis. We must preserve the fiscal health that we have successfully accomplished in such a short time,” he added.
Estrada is seeking his second term with Councilor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, daughter of former vice mayor Danny Lacuna, as his running mate.
Estrada also asked Manileños to support presidential bet Sen. Grace Poe and vice presidential aspirant Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Estrada said he would continue his projects to bring back Manila’s old glory and uplift the lives of the city’s poor if he is reelected.
