Andal Jr. fears suffering from liver disease
MANILA, Philippines - Following the death of his father due to liver cancer, Maguindanao massacre primary suspect Andal Ampatuan Jr. asked the court yesterday to allow him to undergo a medical examination to check the condition of his liver.
In a three-page urgent motion, Ampatuan – through lawyer Salvador Panelo – asked the court for permission to be brought to a medical facility due to intense pain in the head, chest and abdomen.
Panelo claimed that Ampatuan was previously treated in the United States for a liver ailment and noted that his family has a history of liver ailments.
