MANILA, Philippines - The alleged leader of a crime gang operating in Quezon City has been arrested after nearly five years of evading law enforcers, an official said yesterday.

Manny Limjoco, 39, was arrested in front of a drugstore in Rosales, Pangasinan on Saturday, Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Joel Pagdilao said.

Limjoco – Quezon City’s most wanted man and the fifth most wanted drug suspect by the National Capital Region Police Office – and his “Limjoco Brothers” gang have been tagged in at least three robberies, two murders and several carjackings, according to Pagdilao.

Records show that Limjoco was accused of killing Filipino-Chinese Albert Man during an attempted carjacking in October 2011. He also faces several drug charges.

His gang was reportedly behind a series of robberies in 2012 and two muggings in 2014.

Limjoco was seen on surveillance footage robbing Indian Mandeff Deol in Barangay Kaunlaran in March 2014, investigators said.

The QCPD is hunting down two more members of Limjoco’s gang. One member has been arrested and another one killed in an encounter with police officers, Pagdilao said.
