Drug-crazed man takes woman hostage

MANILA, Philippines - An alleged drug-crazed man was arrested after he took a woman hostage inside her house in Poblacion, Muntinlupa City Thursday.

Police said Rodrigo Tacderan, 30, broke into the house of Preshell Padasas, 39, and held her hostage at 7:30 a.m.

The knife-wielding Tacderan, believed to be high on drugs, demanded to talk to Mayor Jaime Fresnedi.

Tacderan surrendered to Fresnedi after an hour of negotiation.

He will be charged with serious illegal detention, grave threat and alarm and scandal before the Muntinlupa prosecutor’s office.
