MANILA, Philippines - More than 70 foreigners were arrested recently for allegedly being part of an online gambling operation in Makati City, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said yesterday.
These foreigners – from China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Australia – were caught posing as call center agents at the Enterprise Center in Makati, BI Commissioner Siegfred Mison said.
He said none of the foreigners had working permits and most only carried tourist visas.
