Woman commits suicide over unpaid debts

MANILA, Philippines - A 36-year-old woman hung herself after a domestic spat over unpaid debts in Valenzuela City Sunday night.

Grace Ontolan and her partner, Robert Habolin, were heard arguing over their unpaid debts at a nearby store, according to reports.

Habolin told police he left their home and returned at around 8 p.m. to find their child crying and calling for his mother in front of the bedroom door, which was locked.

When she did not answer, Habolin said he peeked through the keyhole and saw her hanging from the ceiling. Police officers are investigating if there had been foul play.
