MANILA, Philippines - An official of a transport group was shot dead in his office in Montalban, Rizal at past noon yesterday.
Police said Anthony Inopiquez, secretary general of Stop and Go Transport Coalition, died on the spot from four gunshot wounds in the head and body.
Jun Magno, president of the coalition, said a lone suspect barged into their office and shot the victim repeatedly.
Magno said Inopiquez was an operator of UV Express vans.
He said the motive for the killing could have been work-related.
Inopiquez had received death threats prior to the killing.
According to Magno, a hand grenade was lobbed at Inopiquez’s office this year but the explosive failed to go off.
