Newly promoted man killed in mishap

MANILA, Philippines - A man was killed when his new motorcycle rammed a concrete barrier along the C-5 Road in Pasig City Sunday.

Jerome Naol bought the motorcycle last Saturday as a gift to himself after his recent promotion at work, his cousin, Felmar Docena, told police.

Docena said Naol was on his way to his office to get his cell phone charger when the accident happened.

Traffic investigators said Naol – who was not wearing a helmet – was thrown off and landed on another motorcycle, driven by Robert Sangalang, on the opposite side of the road. He died on the spot while Sangalang sustained minor injuries.
