Ampatuan kin’s arraignment OK’d

MANILA, Philippines - The multiple murder case filed against Datu Akmad “Tato” Ampatuan Sr. in connection with the Maguindanao massacre may now proceed.

This after the Supreme Court has given Quezon City Judge Jocelyn Solis-Reyes the go-signal to proceed with Ampatuan’s arraignment set on Aug. 7.

 In a resolution released yesterday, the Third Division of the high court denied his petition seeking deferment of his arraignment. 

The petitioner is a nephew of the clan’s patriarch and fellow accused Andal Ampatuan Sr.
