MANILA, Philippines - A 32-year-old jobless man was caught stealing two digital cameras worth P17,000 in Mandaluyong City yesterday, but he insisted he was not a robber.
Nino Alarcon, of Barangay New Zaniga claimed he lost his way and accidentally entered the house of Rey Aldas, 45.
Alarcon, however, could not say how he got hold of two digital cameras of Aldas – a Canon worth P10,000 and a Toshiba costing P7,000.
Aldas said he was washing clothes outside their house when he saw Alarcon through an open door, holding the two cameras at about 2 a.m. yesterday. Alarcon was armed with a kitchen knife.
When Alarcon fled, Aldas shouted for help. Village watchmen caught Alarcon, who yielded a fan knife and the two cameras.
