Frat member stabs dead drinking buddy

MANILA, Philippines - A 17-year-old fraternity member killed his drinking buddy during a heated argument in Sta. Cruz, Manila at midnight yesterday.

Senior Police Officer 2 Edmundo Cabal said the two males were engaged in a drinking session to celebrate the birthday of one of their friends when Jefferson Bayangat, 24, became angry at the suspect and slapped him.

The teenager, an out-of-school youth and a member of the Magic Five fraternity, pulled out a knife and stabbed Bayangat in the chest with a fan knife.

The suspect’s mother surrendered him to the police.
