MANILA, Philippines - A retired policeman lost his sport utility vehicle to carjackers in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.
Retired SPO3 Egton Lescano, 52, of San Pedro compound Banlat Road in Barangay Tandang Sora, said he parked his bronze 2010 Hyundai Tucson (PRI-828) in front of the bakeshop to buy pan de sal.
When he returned to his vehicle, two armed men suddenly appeared and hit him in the head with a gun, knocking him to the ground. When he got up, the vehicle was gone.
PO3 Arielito Canlas said the incident happened at around 4 a.m. in front of a bakeshop along Mindanao Avenue near Road 20 in Barangay Bahay Toro.
