Woman, partner rob ex-boyfriend

- Jerry Botial -

MANILA, Philippines - A public high school teacher accused his former girlfriend and her live-in partner yesterday of robbing him at knifepoint in their house over the weekend in Caloocan City.

Superintendent Carlito Dimalanta, Bagong Silang Substation 3 chief, said Dennis Draper filed charges of robbery and physical injuries against his former lover, Jacqueline Pineda, 27; and her live-in partner, Erwin Estanislao, 27.

Draper, 28, told investigators Pineda allegedly invited him to come with her to her house for old times’ sake at around 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Her house is near the school where Draper teaches.

Draper, who claimed he still loved his ex-girlfriend, accepted the invitation. He said Pineda left him alone as soon as they went inside her house. Draper said he had not even warmed his seat when Estanislao and Anthony Guevarra appeared.

At knifepoint, the suspects divested him of his P12,000 cell phone, P3,200 he had in his wallet and other valuables. Draper said he tried to resist his attackers but they beat him up then shoved him out of the house.

“Estanislao said I should buy back my things for P15,000 and gave me until 5 p.m.,” he said.

Draper reported the robbery to the police, which led to Estanislao’s arrest.

When Pineda learned that her current boyfriend had been taken to jail, she went to the police station to ask what had happened, police said.

When Pineda found her former boyfriend still at the police station, she tried to leave but Draper pointed to her as one of the suspects. She was arrested and charged.

Police said they are hot on the trail of Guevarra, allegedly a cousin of Estanislao.
