133 teachers undergo FUSE training

- Rainier Allan Ronda -

MANILA, Philippines - A total of 133 elementary and high school teachers from Catholic schools and some public schools were the latest beneficiaries of an enhanced teacher training program conducted by the Foundation for Upgrading the Standard of Education (FUSE) in time for the opening of classes.

FUSE’s new program zeroed in on “content” or what teachers would be teaching the students, in an effort to improve the learning competencies of students in public as well as private schools all over the country.

The teachers were also taught methods and approaches to enrich the learning of students, which included the use of technology such as instructional video compact discs and television.

The seminar, held from May 23 to 27, was organized in partnership with the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines, the largest organization of Catholic schools in the country, and the Our Lady of Peace School.

Of the 133 teachers, 30 attended a seminar on math, 32 on elementary science, 22 on chemistry, and 14 on physics.
