Boy drowns in flooded building basement

MANILA, Philippines - A 10-year-old boy drowned in the flooded basement of a condominium building in Barangay Sucat, Muntinlupa City Friday night.

Senior Police Officer 1 Roberto Pareño said Dennis Christian Terra, rather than stay home, reportedly chose to play near the Primera Condominium’s flooded basement parking area.

Police said Terra was about to leave at around 8 p.m. when he slipped and fell into the floodwater. Concerned residents rushed Terra to the Parañaque Medical Center, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.   – Rhodina Villanueva
