Stars hold parade in Metro

Motorists should expect heavy traffic on several major thoroughfares tomorrow, Dec. 24, due to the holding of the traditional Parade of Stars that marks the start of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

The Parade of Stars this year will begin at the Quezon Memorial Circle and run through Quezon Avenue, España, Lerma, Quezon Boulevard., P. Burgos, and Roxas Boulevard, until it reaches the Aliw Theater at the CCP Complex.

In addition, there will be three satellite stages set up at Welcome Rotonda, Plaza Miranda, and Luneta where various artists will entertain the public during simultaneous variety shows in anticipation of the arrival of the floats.

As in previous years, the parade is expected to last from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The 10 MMFF entries this year will have floats carrying their respective lead actors and actresses.

The MMFF, which opens on Christmas Day, feature the films Ako Legal Wife, Enteng Kabisote 2, Exodus, Kutob, Mulawin, Shake, Rattle & Roll, Terrorist Hunter, Blue Moon, Mourning Girls, and Lagot Ka sa Kuya Ko.

The MMFF 2005 is sponsored by Tanduay, Hope, Kodak, Kremil-S, EastWest Bank, Bacchus, Petron Rev-X, Circulan, LBC and the PCSO.
