PDEA nabs six drug dealers in QC buy-bust

Six suspected drug pushers were arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) following a buy-bust operation in Quezon City last Monday.

PDEA Director General Anselmo Avenido Jr., said criminal charges were filed against the suspects identified as Alvin Alamada, 27; Jesus Francisco, 33; Redempta Alamada, 45; Ricardo Agustin, 44; Dahlia Alamada, 33, and Ricky de los Santos.

Senior Inspector Rommel Ochave, of the Metro Manila Regional Office, said the suspects were arrested around 6:30 p.m. in front of the United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) along Mindanao Avenue, Quezon City.

The six were caught after selling to an agent some 50 grams of shabu, worth P45,000, placed inside a heat-sealed plastic sachet.

Also seized from the suspects were the marked P500 bills used by the PDEA and a Tamaraw FX van (PVT-479) used to deliver the illegal drugs.

Avenido said the suspects, currently detained at the MMRO in Camp Crame, face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. – Christina Mendez
