Car driver shot dead; road rage angle eyed

A man was shot and killed by an unidentified assailant shortly after midnight yesterday in Pasay City. Police theorized a traffic altercation may have triggered the shooting.

Police identified the victim as Arman Felix Bondoc, 34, of Quirino Avenue, San Dionisio, Parañaque. He is said to be working for Parañque Councilor Anjo Yllana.

Records showed he sustained at least three gunshot wounds in the head and neck. He was alone inside his dark gray Mitsubishi Lancer (UDL 773) when the shooting happened, the police said.

While a motive has yet to be established, police said the incident could have stemmed from a possible road rage.

Initial investigation showed that the killing happened at around 1:30 a.m. along Buendia corner Taft Avenue.

Police records showed that Bondoc stopped at the intersection when a man alighted from a van and walked towards the driver’s side of the sedan. Without warning, the assailant shot Bondoc. Witnesses told policemen that after shooting Bondoc, the gunman casually went back to the van, which sped away towards Roxas Boulevard. – Nikko Dizon
