Arab nabbed in Malabon

An Arab was arrested by the Malabon City police early yesterday morning after he allegedly refused to pay for cellular phone cards worth P750 he bought from a store.

Moreover, police said, suspect Ali Ahmed Al Rashed, 38, married, of 572 Engracia Reyes St., Ermita, Manila, reportedly tried to dupe victim Andrew Go, 29, of MacArthur Highway, Barangay Potrero, by returning the call cards which had already been tampered with.

Rashed, now detained in the city jail, was charged with violation of the law Regulating Access Devices and Prohibiting Fraudulent Acts Committed Relative Thereto.

PO2 Jorge de la Cruz said Rashed was arrested at around 12:30 a.m. following Go’s complaint. Rashed reportedly bought three prepaid phone cards worth P250 each but had reportedly no cash to pay Go. – Nikko Dizon
