CEBU, Philippines - A fixer at the Land Transportation Office in Mandaue City was arrested Tuesday afternoon during an entrapment operation in sitio Superior in barangay Looc, Mandaue City.
Crisistomo Embudo Alcala, 39, of barangay Paknaan, who works for insurance firm was arrested by policemen from the Centro police station headed by chief P C/Insp.Elmer Fernandez after Ibabao-Estancia barangay councilor Pablo Gallego told police the man had defrauded him.
Based on Gallego's statement, he negotiated the processing of the registration of his trailer with Alcala.
It was later discovered that the processed documents were fake when the trailer was apprehended in Lapu-Lapu City.
When Alcala had once again contacted him and had asked for an additional P3,000, he then went to the police who in turn conducted an entrapment operation with the use of marked money amounting to P3,000.
As soon as Alcala accepted the marked money, he was immediately arrested.
The marked money was recovered and the police also found P21,000 in his pockets.
Alcala is expected to face an estafa case. – THE FREEMAN
