Police arrest welder wanted for 2 murders

CEBU, Philippines -  A welder who has long been wanted for two murder cases was finally arrested in the house of his live-in partner in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City Saturday.

Fredeswindow Mollon, 28, was arrested by the Investigation and Detective Management Bureau (IDMB) on the strength of two arrest warrants signed by former Judge Ulric Cañete of branch 55 and Judge Silvestre Maamo also of Branch 55.

IDMB chief P/Insp. Ramil Morpos said Mollon is being accused of killing one Domingo Rota, 33, of barangay Labogon, Mandaue City in December 6, 2008.

Mollon shot Rota once in the chest with a .357 caliber revolver, killing him instantly.

In May 21, 2010, Mollon shot a fellow welder at the Alton Steel Fabrication shop in barangay Labogon.

Mollon also shot and killed Jonelo Gemongala, a fellow welder during a heated argument while at work.

Morpos said six months ago tried but failed to arrest Mollon.

This time, however, after receiving information that Mollon was visiting his live-in partner in barangay Paknaan, the police made sure they got him.

Mollon is detained at the Mandaue City Jail.
