Play that funky music, fast fashion DJ

MANILA, Philippines - Fashion and music proved to be a potent cocktail for fun as retail giant Forever 21 celebrated its third year in the Philippines with a party at club du jour Hyve last Aug. 8.

Dubbed the “Forever 21 Fashion and Music Fest,” stylephiles arrived in droves and partied hard as music from three of Manila’s top DJs, The Diegos, DJ Emel Rowe and Deuce Manila, thumped from the speakers. The event’s host, MYX VJ Joyce Pring, introduced the latest looks from Forever 21 with a fashion show inspired by three key trends this season: Back to Grunge was presented with ‘90s rock and indie pop anthems spun by The Diegos; garage house and nu-disco beats of DJ Emel ushered in Mod Street Style; and finally, DJ duo Deuce Manila brought the house to its feet with a raucous EDM-heavy set that played over the loud and playful prints of the last collection, Comic Boom. Throughout the night, attendees in the best party-ready outfits were treated to exciting prizes. Awards were given for the best beauty look, best-dressed male, female and group of the night.

Since its unforgettable opening at SM Megamall three years ago, Forever 21 has been a dominant force in the retail scene, offering only the freshest and trendiest of clothing in its racks now available in six more locations all over the country. Toasting its continued success were Forever 21 brand ambassadors Camille Co, Lissa Kahayon and Patricia Prieto, joined by Forever 21’s marketing manager Jane Kingsu-Cheng and business unit head Dixie Li, with fashion editors Kate Paras of Chalk magazine and Rainier Dagala of Meg magazine.

The party went well into the early hours but not without everyone all rocked out and ready for more years of amazing fashion and great music, a mix best championed by Forever 21.
