That '70s high

It’s that time of the year again, when Manila’s most stylish have an excuse to dress to the nines and attend possibly the most anticipated fashion party of the year: the Preview Best Dressed Ball. Guests were treated to not one, but two back-to-back parties last week, the first celebrating Topshop’s 10th anniversary in Manila. With the theme aptly named Brit High Street, people showed up in their best UK-inspired ensembles, from the minimal to the outrageous. From schoolboy chic to casual separates with a twist, it was a showcase of British style mixed with Pinoy flavor.

The next night, guests trekked over to Seventh High at the Fort for the Best Dressed Ball sporting their best interpretation of ‘70s chic to the theme of Coco Banana, named after the legendary club. People went all-out glam in iconic ‘70s silhouettes such as the thigh-high slit, cinched waist, sequined jumpsuits, flared pants and boho maxi dresses.

Nothing like a thematic party to bring out the theatrics.
