Slow burn

Rarely is there more pressure to emerge overnight into the most glowingly self-illuminated versions of ourselves than during those first few weeks of the new year.  Juice fasts, spin classes, solemn vows to pay our phone bills and get our roots touched up at decently conscionable intervals are all simultaneously pledged in the bright-eyed, bushy-tailed hope that the momentum of such drastic change will carry over into the rest of the year. Which is totally where things fall apart first. The problem is that we’re programmed to believe that things that happen gradually are a waste of time. Um, how about f*ck that noise? Start the year on “snooze.” Choose to ease into things instead of crashing and burning out every other month and see where that takes you for a change. Lazy girls, you’re welcome.
