Theoxenia Tourism Awards

MANILA, Philippines - Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU)-Manila, the biggest tourism and hospitality management school in Asia, hosted the 1st Theoxenia Tourism Awards. Theoxenia is Greek for “hospitality shown to a god who comes as a guest.”

A project of the LPU Student Chapter of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Philippines, with Bob Zozobrado as adviser, the event honors outstanding tourism and hospitality management establishments and personalities committed to excellence.

The winners of the 1st Theoxenia Tourism Awards are: Diamond Hotel (5-star hotel); Hotel Jen (4-star hotel); Philippine Airlines (airline); Royal Caribbean International (cruise line); Rajah Travel (travel agency); Region 4B MIMAROPA (most visited); and Vikings Luxury Buffet (buffet restaurant).

Other winners include Boy Logro (chef); Michaela Fenix of Philippine Daily Inquirer (food columnist); Christine Dayrit of The STAR (travel writer); Asian Traveler (travel magazine); Balesin Island Club (resort); Travel Time (tourism-oriented television show); Enchanted Kingdom (entertainment park).
