Boracay welcomes Azalea hotels & residences

MANILA, Philippines - The island paradise of Boracay is the perfect vacation getaway with its pristine, white sand beaches, summer activities, and a shoreline filled with restaurants and shops of every kind. For vacationers, the most important thing to settle is the accommodation. One does not just stay for a day in Boracay, or at the very least, stay for a night. There is a multitude of hotel and room options on the island and an upcoming industry player is bound to attract the most attention. Get ready to experience Azalea Hotels & Residences Boracay.

Slated to complete construction in December 2014, Azalea is the second property to be put up by the hotel group following the success of Azalea Residences Baguio which earned a Distinguished Award of Service Excellence from renowned online vacation review site TripAdvisor.com, and in just one year became the No. 2 hotel in Baguio City.

“We consistently receive the highest marks on lodging, accommodations and services,” says Dulah Lipardo, COO and president of Azalea Hotels & Residences. “We intend to bring that same service, commitment, quality and value to the world-famous shores of Boracay Island by 2014.”

With Boracay being one of the top tourist attractions of the country, the opportunity to set up a hotel on the island was too much to miss. When land became available, Azalea Hotels & Residences CEO and chairman Mariano Martinez jumped at the chance. “We felt we should establish a presence, and the presence was really premised on the basis of our timeshare concept — the Azalea Vacation Club,” he said.

Offering a premier timeshare membership granting exclusive vacation ownership privileges in all Azalea properties, the Azalea Vacation Club is also affiliated with the Resort Condominium International. “We realized that the Baguio user — at a certain point in time — was going to look for other places to use,” says Martinez. “Not all of them are interested in doing international timeshare. So early on, when we decided to diversify and go into the business of tourism and leisure, we said, ‘if we’re going to do this, we’re going to do a chain,’ so that the user or buyer — right-of-use buyer for the timeshare — will have a variety of venues to choose from. It’s really more value for money. ”

Azalea Hotels & Residences Boracay will offer some of the biggest accommodations for club members and hotel guests in its soon-to-open site. With a total land area of 5,700 square meters and 222 all-suite rooms, Azalea is mere steps away from the beach and will feature a modern and open architectural aesthetic with two rooftop pools for adults and kids.

Consistent with its brand promise, Azalea will feature sizeable serviced residences, all equipped with full kitchen, separate living and dining areas ranging from the smallest room of 30 square meters to the largest at 75 square meters. These spacious vacation residences are perfect for families and small or large groups of friends vacationing together and staying in one hotel room or adjoining rooms. This flexible, multi-use option is guaranteed value for money and allows travelers to save up or splurge on other vacation essentials.

Lipardo says, “If you bought a timeshare in Baguio and you go to Boracay, you get the same thing. Same offering.” She reveals that families and groups would really benefit from what Azalea has to offer. “We really see people traveling in family packs or groups who would really want to gather around a comfortable space. That’s really the theme of our rooms, to be able to cater to different kinds of groups. We offer a lot of versatility to different markets.”

Replicating the systems and success enjoyed in Baguio, Azalea Residences Boracay is poised to make its own impressive mark on the island. Martinez cannot emphasize enough how important that is: “Primarily, we want guests to experience good service. We stress that, often too much, to our hotel staff. The award from TripAdvisor says a lot. We aim to please. We adopt that as our motto. I suppose all other hotels do that, but we do it exceptionally well.”

Martinez adds: “The time for a new kind of hotel has come. We worked hard for this, from design to making sure we would get a certain rating from the Department of Tourism because if there is anything we would like to impress, it’s really the value that you will get.”

There are now plans for the group to expand further into other top tourist destinations such as Cebu, Davao, and Clark, a plan that will slowly roll out after Azalea Residences Boracay’s debut in 2014. That means timeshare owners get even more for their membership in the years to come, making loyalty to the budding hotel chain even more rewarding.
