Asiana is Airline of the Year anew

MANILA, Philippines - Asiana Airlines (OZ), which flies out of Manila, Cebu and Clark, now marks the fourth consecutive year of being named Airline of the Year.

The global Korean carrier recently accepted the Airline of the Year title from Premier Traveler magazine in a New York awarding ceremony.

Premier Traveler conducted an online survey for its Best of 2012 awards. With over 130,000 subscribers, the magazine’s choice awards also considered the judgment of their travel writers and editors in the fields of service, catering, lounge and aircraft for Airline of the Year.

Aside from Airline of the Year, Asiana Airlines was also hailed by Premier Traveler for Best Flight Attendants in the World, Best Airline to Asia, and Best Airline Advertising Campaign.

“Asiana received the awards for its high-quality services, such as its onboard crew chef and sommelier service, in-flight magic show and makeup event, as well as its cutting-edge cabin facilities exemplified by its ‘OZ First Suite’ and ‘OZ Quadra Smartium,” said Linda Vaughan, Premier Traveler publisher.

Asiana has received the Airline of the Year accolade from three other award-giving bodies: Global Traveler in 2011, Skytrax in 2010 and Air Transport World in 2009.

In 2012, Asiana was also given first prize by the Korea Customer Satisfaction Index for the fifth consecutive year. Top Travel, a China-based lifestyle publication, also cited it as the Leading Airline in China.

“We have been centered on the philosophy of achieving customer satisfaction and have become the first airline to win the ‘Airline of the Year’ award four years consecutively. This has never been achieved in the history of the aviation industry.  We will show our gratitude to our customers by continuing to provide the best service and safety which suit the reputation of the Golden Grand Slam airline,” said Young-Doo Yoon, Asiana President and CEO.
