Turkish treasures from Miladay

MANILA, Philippines - Miladay Jewels partnered with travel and tour provider Meteor Philippines to promote the distinct beauty of Turkey through its fine jewelry with the launch of Jemille, which connotes beauty in Turkish.

Jemille’s unique patterns remind one of exotic lands rich in texture and beauty. Yellow gold is complemented by intricate white gold finishes. This combination has produced pieces of jewelry that are wearable, fashionable, and affordable.

Using the popular ajoure technique in jewelry making, intricate patterns were cut in gold, giving way to a collection of rings and earrings that are an instant attraction.

The launch was attended by Turkish Ambassador to the Philippines Hatice Pinar Isik and Meteor Philippines general manager Ligaya Tabirao, along with Miladay Jewels’ Jaqui Dayrit Boncan, Mark Dayrit, Christine Dayrit and Yvonne Romualdez. Miladay celebrity endorser Karylle added luster to the event.

Hosted by Bum Tenorio, the intimate affair gathered the country’s most discerning jewelry aficionados and collectors, as well as representatives from top travel agencies.

“Miladay’s Turkish Collection represents the highest form of skilled art and craftsmanship,” said Ambassador Isik.

“As a woman and an individual who has great appreciation for excellent craftsmanship and beautiful things, I do not think that there is a better way to present Turkey and all of its richness and exotic allure than collaborating with Miladay, one of the country’s finest jewelers,” enthused Tabirao.

“The launch of Jemille is the fulfillment of my long-time dream of marrying my travels with our jewelry. I first fell in love with Turkey in 2008 when I wrote about it in my column in the Philippine STAR. That also began my relationship with Meteor Travel,” said Christine Dayrit.

Serving as the kick-off of the promotion of Turkey as one of the emerging travel destinations for Filipinos — an initiative led by Meteor Philippines — the event allowed guests to sample authentic Turkish cuisine, and check out Miladay’s Turkish collection.

The launch was capped by a raffle draw. Prizes given away, which included a six-day/five-night trip for two to Istanbul including land arrangements, roundtrip transfers, and hotel accommodation with daily breakfast and a half-day city tour, care of Meteor Philippines and Turkish Airways.

“Turkey presents a confluence of the old and new, and a multi-sensory experience for all those who dare discover it — a true gem in the tourism landscape, so to speak,” Tabirao added.
