Changing water to soda in just 30 seconds

MANILA, Philippines - Did you know that 80 percent of cola bottles in the US and 50 percent of cola bottles in Europe do not get recycled but instead end up in landfills? These figures were released by the US Recycling Institute and the Petcore Institute in Europe.

How do you dispose of your soda bottles after purchase? Do you store them in your kitchen or pantry, recycle them, then throw them in private or public bins afterwards?

SodaStream first introduced its innovative solutions to the beverage market in 1903. Today, SodaStream drink makers provide families with a convenient, economical, environment-friendly alternative (vis-a-vis store-bought sparkling water and soft drinks): a compact earth-friendly appliance that transforms water into fresh, fizzy soda and sparkling water in just 30 seconds!

Requiring no batteries or electricity, SodaStream is powered by a carbon dioxide (CO2) carbonator.

Once empty, the carbonator is returned to the manufacturer to be cleaned, inspected, and refilled with beverage-grade CO2 that’s drawn naturally from the air.

SodaStream comes with two reusable BPA-free bottles and two bottles of concentrated syrup.

The eco-friendly bottles — which are good for three years — can withstand carbonation. When added to sparkling water or carbonated tap water, a mere cupful of the highly-concentrated syrup can make 12 liters of soda — equivalent to 33 cans of soda. That means saving the earth of a whopping 2,000 soda cans a year!

The result? Regular or diet versions of classics such as cola, cola zero, lemon-lime, orange, apple, and even fruit creations such as strawberry kiwi and honeydew melon, and energy drinks. Mixers can control the flavor/sweetness and the fizz.
