MANILA, Philippines - Burberry’s Trench collection of sunglasses and optical frames for men and women is inspired by the iconic Burberry trench coat. Originating in the early 20th century, the trench coat was created to protect the wearer from the elements while being light and comfortable. Designed in Britain and handmade in Italy, the eyewear collection follows the same principles and reflects many of the coat’s signature design details. Temple tips are leather-wrapped with tonal stitching, inspired by the leather-clad trench buckle. Nose pads feature polished metal supports that echo the coat’s metal hook-and-eye neck fastening. The Burberry check that lines the coat is featured across the collection, from the bespoke nose pads to the enameled and engraved details on the inner and outer temples.
