Weekend Watch: Scout’s Honor at Hole in the Wall

If milk-and-cookies sounds like a good way to kick in the holiday spirit, you’re in luck—this Saturday will be the opening of Scout’s Honor, the highly anticipated cookie shop like you’ve never seen before.

Located at the latest concept food court Hole in the Wall, Scout’s Honor operates on the theory that cookies are best served fresh from the oven. With that in mind, the shop has a made-to-order system in place to craft that perfect custom cookie.

Guests first pick their preferred type of dough and then a mix of their favorite toppings.  Ten minutes in the oven, et voila: warm, freshly-baked cookies, sure to hit the spot.

Paired with their selection of craft milk — shaken milk with a range of flavors, the unusual ones going as far as matcha, bamboo charcoal and Horlicks — and you have the optimum milk-and-cookie combo, made to your taste.

Those interested in the shop’s originals can avail of the ready-made retail cookies. Already available for the soft opening, the matcha sesame cookie has been the shop’s bestseller so far, with good reason — it’s decadent but not overdone, made with high-grade ingredients that result in a quality cookie.

Other cookies include an interpretation of the famed chocolate thin mint Girl Scout cookies, oreo-cookie-within-a-double-chocolate-fudge-cookie-within-a-chocolate-chip-cookie Inception cookies, molasses and oat cookies, among others.

Easily the cookie event of the year, Scout’s Honor is the latest brainchild of accomplished pastry chef Miko Aspiras, partnered with fellow pastry chef Kristine Lotilla. The craft cookie shop is a great fit for Hole in the Wall, which has a number of new food concepts upcoming.

Scout’s Honor in Hole in the Wall is on the 4th floor of Century City Mall, Makati.
