Chronicling Philippine fashion

Moda Filipina 2014, a fashion presentation that showcased the history of Philippine fashion and  its evolution, was a huge success, thanks to Moda Filipina 2014’s indefatigable chairman Lili Adina.

Held at the main lounge of the Manila Polo Club, the show featured clothing styles of Filipinos from the past to the present. Each piece highlighted the use of the country’s indigenous materials as worn by the ethnic tribes and seen in the Neo-Filipiniana style of Luzon, the Filipiniana terno, Maria Clara dress style of the Visayas, and the intricate and colorful patterns of Mindanao.

For the finale, the ladies of the Friends for Cultural Concerns of the Philippines (FCCP) paraded in elegant black evening gowns accessorized with jewelry from, of course, Lili Jewellery. Part of the proceeds of the show will be used to buy bancas for distribution to fishermen affected by Super Typhoon Yolanda while the rest will be utilized for FCCP’s scholarship and outreach programs.

To the FCCP officers and board of directors and the Moda Filipina 2014 Fashion Show Committee Core Group, may blessings continue to come in your favor for the sake of the needy and the upliftment of Philippine arts and culture!
