A tribute to our country's First Lady Knight

“You cannot believe in honor until you have achieved it. Better keep yourself clean and bright: you are the window through which you must see the world.” — Sir Walter Besant

Armed with an ardent passion for charity and the arts, the formidable Monaco Consul Fortune Aleta Ledesma was recently conferred Chevalier (Knight) in the order of Saint Charles by Prince Albert II in an elaborate yet modest ceremony held during the National Day of Monaco. The Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines, where Fortune currently serves as president, hosted the celebratory cocktails in her honor.

The consular community led by the dean of the consular corps of the Philippines Hidenodu Sobashima of Japan was all praises to the woman they fondly refer to as “Lady Ledesma.” Representatives from different embassies such as Ambassador Herbert Jaeger of Austria, including those from Britain, Chile, Finland, Romania, Turkey, Thailand and Venezuela also attended to honor our country’s first and most worthy Knight in shining goodness.

Congratulations, Fortune!
