April 26, 2004

The first solar eclipse of the year makes today astrologically special. This occurs while the moon is new in Aries – again! There was a new moon in Aries last month, and a project you started then probably blasted off like a rocket. Apply this high-octane energy to a new area of your life. The sun moves into Taurus, so follow-through is easy.

ARIES (March 21-April 19)
. What is growing in your life requires your time, whether it is a beautiful garden or a burgeoning new relationship. You’ll have satisfying results from nurturing this entity. Allergies could interfere with your health.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20).
It’s a day of instant karma and fast results, so check that your integrity and ethics are intact, as usual. If you feel like what you do isn’t enough, you’re not the only one. Live with the fact that there will always be room for improvement.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21).
You could get a better than normal return for your work today, but put those profits right back into your business. If not, they quickly dwindle away, converted to stuff you’ll later regret buying. It’s a prime time to raise fees.

CANCER (June 22-July 22).
Self-reliance is a fabulous feeling. People who’ve figured prominently in your past decision-making are no longer influencing you, but you still enjoy their company. Keep eyes open for a bargain – you’ll resell it for twice as much!

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22).
Take time to dream alone; you are very lucky when you close the rest of the world out and concentrate. If you thought romance was over, think again. Your ex needs closure. To increase your money luck, make a charitable donation.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (April 26).
Your spirit is expanding, your knowledge is growing, and you are becoming a more loving person. But, you ask, what about the money? Don’t worry so much! You are wealthy in more important areas now through August, but the end of the summer brings a windfall that helps you launch a new business or pay for a wedding. Your lucky numbers are: 5, 35, 29, 11 and 18.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22).
Working your plan doesn’t have to take a big, disciplined effort. The next step to take should be a natural progression that feels good. Political moves are wise moves now, as long as they don’t oppose your values.

LIBRA (Sept.23-Oct.23).
Requests that on other days might be considered unreasonable will be granted. Mistakes involve the computer; double-check your work. A casual conversation this afternoon reveals exactly what you need to know. Listen up!

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21)
. If you’re looking for external ways to happiness, you’re looking in the wrong direction. Fulfillment comes from inside. You can recognize this one before you spend your money – or you can learn it the expensive way.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21).
What worked yesterday may not work today. This is because you are always evolving. Each problem needs a unique solution. By making lists, planning and adhering to your agenda, much can be accomplished.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19).
Be aware and wary about what you know – it may be true, but it’s not the only version of the truth. At work, you have a need for everything to be neatly packaged and handled today. Stick to the rules to get ahead.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18).
High hopes are one of your most beautiful assets. Those of you struggling with a relationship that has turned sour will have a breakthrough. There’s untapped sweetness in this connection, and you will eventually find it.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20).
You are starting to realize how past circumstances have held you back. You also need more money. As Abraham Lincoln said, "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing."

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS:
"I’m a Leo born Aug. 1, 1962, and my boyfriend is a Capricorn born Dec. 30, 1964. This is a very good relationship, and we have a great time together. What troubles me is that every astrological compatibility chart says we are wrong for each other. Should I be concerned?"

That’s an interesting question, and now, I have one for you. Why are you giving your power away to a chart when you already know you are having a great time in a great relationship? I don’t believe any two signs are incompatible with one another. There are unique challenges to every single relationship. Some kinds of challenges are pronounced, and everyone can see them. But that doesn’t mean those pronounced challenges are any more difficult than ones that can’t be readily seen. For instance, a couple that argues often may appear to outsiders to have a problematic relationship. But a silent couple that doesn’t feel safe enough to communicate truthfully at all is in much deeper trouble. Natal charts are complex business – there are many elements to be interpreted, and every astrologer will have his or her own take on the information.

CELEBRITY PROFILES:
Though the sun moved into Taurus today, it was still in Aries on April 19, 1981, which is why Hayden Christensen, who stars as Anakin Skywalker in the most recent and upcoming installments of the "Star Wars" saga, is an Aries. He reportedly beat out over 400 Anakin wanna-bes auditioning for the coveted role. Aries love a good competition, and George Lucas probably picked up on this.
