PLDT acquires added firepower
MANILA, Philippines — The PLDT High Speed Hitters have shored up their already deep roster with the addition of Leila Cruz, formerly of the Capital1 Solar Spikers.
The arrival of the 26-year-old, 6-foot-1 opposite spiker – the second overall pick in the PVL’s inaugural rookie draft two years ago – was announced yesterday. Her transfer comes on the heels of PLDT’s recent acquisitions of former Cignal stars Erika Santos and Vanie Gandler.
“You can never be late to your own time to shine,” the Manny V. Pangilinan-owned club said via social media. “We are excited to see you at your best on the taraflex court! You got this and we got you.”
Interestingly, Cruz will reunite with former La Salle teammate Alleiah Malaluan and fellow Lady Spikers Kianna Dy, Majoy Baron and Kim Fajardo in the High Speed Hitters’ loaded lineup.
