Alyssa withdraws from PVL draft

MANILA, Philippines — The long wait for Alyssa Solomon’s Premier Volleyball League debut has been extended to at least another year.
Solomon withdrew from the PVL Rookie Draft yesterday and decided to rejoin the Alas Pilipinas team that is to see action in the AVC Women’s Volleyball Cup while awaiting opportunities abroad.
The Japanese league veteran would have been the consensus No. 1 pick had she stayed in the draft pool for the annual rites set Wednesday at the Novotel.
While it was good news for the national team, it was bad for Galeries Tower, which owns the top pick that it would have exercised on Solomon had she not changed her mind.
