COVID-19 positivity rate down to 1.8%

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines’ COVID-19 nationwide positivity rate further decreased to 1.8 percent, the OCTA Research group said yesterday.

In a Twitter post, OCTA Research fellow Guido David said the 1.8 percent positivity rate was recorded after the Department of Health reported on Monday 128 new cases and 9,520 ac-tive cases.

The nationwide COVID-19 positivity rate was 2.3 percent last week.

On Monday, OCTA said the COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) decreased again to 2.3 percent on Jan. 28 after a slight increase the day before.

NCR’s positivity rate  or the percentage of people found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested “dipped back” to 2.3 percent on Jan. 28 after it slightly in-creased to 2.4 percent on Jan. 27.
