2 LPAs to bring rains – PAGASA
MANILA, Philippines — Two low-pressure areas (LPAs) will bring rains over most of the countrythis week, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
The first low-pressure area entered the Philippine area of responsibility at around 8 a.m. and was 135 km north of Zamboanga City as of 3 p.m. yesterday.
Another low-pressure area developed east of the Visayas and was estimated 185 km from Guian, Eastern Samar as of 3 p.m.
Both weather disturbances are not likely to develop into tropical depression but the combined effects will bring moderate to heavy rains over some parts of the country.
The trough of the low-pressure area will particularly affect Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, Caraga, Eastern and Western Visayas.
Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy skies and isolated to light rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region and Aurora, the Ilocos Region and Central Luzon.
Localized thunderstorms will also affect the rest of the country.
PAGASA advised the public to be ready for possible flash floods or landslides during heavy or prolonged rainfall.
