MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines has received a donation of 10,000 test kits for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from the Kingdom of Thailand.

Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. and Department of Health director Maria Soledad Antonio received the test kits during a ceremonial turnover with Thai Ambassador Vasin Ruangprateepsaeng.

The test kits were delivered to the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine, according to a statement from Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday.

The DFA said the delivery of the test kits marks the fulfillment of an earlier offer made by Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha during a special summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations last April.
